The Parties discussed the agenda items of European integration of Ukraine and the priorities of the EU-Ukraine Summit scheduled for December 25, 2013 in Brussels and the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius in November this year.
In this regard, Jose Rodriguez Moyano stressed that Spain supports Euro-integrational aspirations of Ukraine and its rapprochement to the EU.
“This year might be a decisive one in reaching this aim, considering the possibility of signing the Association Agreement. That is why, timely and specific results on the part of Ukraine in following the criteria, set out in the EU Council conclusions of December 10, 2012, regarding the issues of politically motivated persecutions of opposition as well as selective rule of law, reforming of both electoral legislation, judicial and law enforcement systems of Ukraine, are very important,” the Ambassador of Spain stated.
Hryhoriy Nemyrya informed Jose Rodriguez Moyano on the priorities of the Committee and its plans for 2013. The Ambassador highly appreciated the work of the Committee over preparation of joint statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the Association Agreement and support of the Euro-integrational aspirations of our state.
During the meeting, the results and outcomes of the visit of the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fulle last week were discussed.
